A man has successfully scammed more than 300 meals from the VIP lounge in Xi’an (Shaanxi, China). The scammer continually updated the itinerary of a first class ticket in order to gain access to the VIP lounge. China Eastern Airlines investigated and found that the ticket was cancelled for a refund just before it expired.
Apparently the person cannot be prosecuted as technically the actions are allowable under the terms and conditions of the ticket.
I’m a bit torn on this one. They definitely gets points for ingenuity, but at the same time lose them again for being so blatantly unethical (essentially they’re using a loophole to steal).
What do you think?
